Each beer is individually selected, cellared and prepared for curation amongst our diverse range of other exhibited styles, strengths and tastes from the ever evolving world of craft beer. Our twelve ever-changing craft taps capture a broad slice of the contemporary beer scene, and over time evolves to ensure each visit to The Surrey Oaks features a different range of beer from previous occasions.
House Cask Ales
Ranmore by Surrey Hills Brewery – 3.8% Hoppy Pale Ale – Dorking, England
Beloved by many for miles around and a permanent feature of The Surrey Oaks for many years; Ranmore is the session beer for any occasion! Straw in colour and clear as crystal, this brew delivers a wonderfully refreshing wave of hops with every swig! A distinct, pleasant aroma accompanies the flavour of hops followed by a smooth but firm bitterness and a subtle minerally note. The freshness of the finish leaves the lingering desire for another. Delivered direct from the brewery, and with a fresh cask on every day, we can guarantee our Ranmore is always served to the highest standards.
Shere Drop by Surrey Hills – 4.2% - Amber Pale Ale – Dorking, England
Upholding pride of place on our bar for many years; Shere Drop is the flagship pale ale of The Surrey Hills Brewery and famous among cask beer lovers nationwide, even claiming CAMRA's Supreme Champion Gold at 2019's Great British Beer Festival! Though of course many of our locals had previously claimed it the best beer in Britain long before that... Shere Drop pours crystal clear and pale amber in colour, with an initial hit of hops on the palate followed by the balanced malt flavours accompanied by subtle aromas of grapefruit and lemon. The flavours slowly tail off over a long finish which is moderately dry.
House Keg Beer
Saucery by Magic Rock – 3.9% - New England Session IPA – Huddersfield, England - Gluten Free
The local favourite and a staple of The Surrey Oaks keg range for many years; Saucery is an hazy, flavour packed Session IPA in the New England style. With each sip zesty aromas of tropical fruit are met by juicy flavours of mango and passionfruit balanced by a delicate, hoppy bitterness on the finish. High in flavour, low in strength and gluten free too! This supernatural session beer is one to return to again and again!
Kriek by Lindemans – 3.5% - Cherry Lambic Beer - Vlezenbeek, Belgium
The Belgian practice of carefully blending fresh Morello cherries with their highly prized, fine aged lambic ales is a centuries old tradition. Lindemans have resurrected these methods to produce a wonderfully sharp and fruity experience. “Kriek” pours sparkling red, capped with a pink head, featuring aromas of fresh cherries and striking the perfect balance between sweetness and sourness on the palate. Not unlike those delicious sour cherry gummies we all remember!
Munchen Helles by Paulaner – 4.5% - Pale German Lager – Munich, Germany
One of the world's best lagers and a stunning example of the helles style: Paulaner's Munchen Helles is a crisp and refreshing German lager. Brewed in accordance with Germany's Bavarian Purity Law from 1516, this exceptional craft lager pours sparkling gold, crystal clear and crowned with a pure white head. Flavours of mild, honeyed malts are joined by a soft hint of noble hops and mellow bitterness with each sip: a pure taste of the Bavarian lifestyle!
Neck Oil by Beavertown – 4.3% - Session IPA – Enfield, England
A familiar face at The Surrey Oaks for years; Neck Oil is the perfect beer for any occasion, the unwavering “go to” for many upon every visit. This ultra-pale, crisp Session IPA boasts a smorgasbord of both American and Australian hops over a modest bill of pale malts, contributing flavours of herbal orange and pink grapefruit with gentle notes of toffee sweetness. The beer pours pale gold with a touch of haze and a smooth, off-white head accompanied by light, hoppy aromas featuring distinct notes of stone fruit.
